Father’s Day Crafts Ideas
I’m spending this week making a plan for Father’s Day and it’s really not an easy task. It all seemed so simple until last night when I asked my fiance what he wanted to do for Father’s Day and his reply was “whatever you plan”
what do you mean whatever I plan!!
Does he know how much pressure that is!
“If you plan nothing then I’ll do nothing”
ok now if that doesn’t make the happiness of Father’s Day lay on my shoulders and great imagination I don’t know what does.
So while I’m deciding what we will do here are a few craft ideas for little ones to make for daddy on Father’s Day.
~FAMILY MARBLE MAGNETS~
- Photographs of family members
- Flat backed clear marbles
- Round magnets
- White craft glue
- Scissors
Choose photos that have family members smiling and their faces will fit inside the marble. Place the marble onto the photo to gauge size. This is great for using snapshots that don’t have very good framing or are otherwise not frame worthy.
Once you have decided on a photo, place marble over face and trace around with a pen
Cut the face out inside the trace line
Use your finger to smear a thin layer of white glue onto the flat back of the marble.
Press the marble gently down onto the cut out photo face. Allow to dry. 6. Glue a magnet to the back and let dry
~NUT FRAME~
DIRECTIONS:
- Remove glass from frame.
- Paint frame black and let dry.
- Use permanent adhesive glue to decorate outside of frame with nuts and washers. Let dry completely.
- Insert a family photo and the glass into the frame.
~ROCK FAMILY PLAQUE~
- Wood plaque
- Rocks, one for each family member
- Wiggle eyes, 2 for each rock
- Black acrylic paint
- Acrylic sealer spray
- Paintbrush
- White craft glue
- Label maker or silver paint and a black marker
Paint the wood plaque with a coat of black paint and let dry
Wash the rocks and let them dry.
Paint a second coat of black paint on the plaque and let dry
Have an adult spray the plaque with a coat of acrylic sealer spray. Let dry
Position rocks on the table and find the “resting spot” on the rock so that they will sit solidly on your plaque
Glue wiggle eyes on to the rocks, using a generous amount of glue. The glue will dry clear. Let dry
Position rocks on the plaque, then add a generous amount of white glue to the bottom of each rock and gently press onto the plaque. Let dry completely
Use a label maker to create your family name. If you don’t have a label maker, paint a strip on the plaque with silver paint. Let dry completely
When strip is dry, use a black marker to write your family name.
