Just stuff and tips for overcoming nerves
This has got to be the craziest weather! It’s in the 70’s when it was just in the 40’s, it’s thundering and raining like crazy and I’m sitting here in a tank top and shorts! It’s so weird because just this past Sunday at the Christmas parade it was so cold my body was numb and now I’m about to die of heat stroke!
I haven’t been able to start work yet. They haven’t called to load up the system onto the new computer. Go figure. By the time I can start work I won’t be nervous about it at all I’ll be so aggravated and ready to start that nerves won’t be an issue at all. I guess it works out ok though since Brandon’s band recital is tonight. I’m sure after we all get back and eat supper the last thing I’m going to want to do is work. I sure would like to have that chance though!
Brandon doesn’t seem to nervous but I’m sure in a way he is. He’s more excited because his teacher gave him a brand new flute since he’s been practicing so hard. He really likes this one because it’s easier to play and really shiny.
For any of you that have kids performing since it is that time of the year for all the Christmas plays and recitals here are a few tips for calming down those nerves.
Prepare for the performance by practicing, picture how you think things will go as you are practicing make it as real as possible. Maybe practice in front of family at first or a group of friends.
Keep thinking how much you are going to enjoy the performance. How fun it’ll be and how much the crowd will love it. Never allow yourself to think negative!
Focus on one person or object while preforming and completely forget the crowd is there.
Most important just have fun don’t think too much about the performance itself and just have fun!
